The Problem

A common and serious problem for house builders are structural damage to curbs on-site from vehicle impact and therefore replacement is often required up to 5 times through the development phase, causing many other negative impacts on projects.

Having to replace curbs can cause delays to projects due to remedial work and are unlikely to meet the standards of local highway authorities, increasing the adoption process and costing money for replacement along with haulage and tipping. Furthermore, chips and cracks in current curb structures can lead to more severe problems, including curb disintegration affecting the surrounding highway, serious health and safety issues causing compensation claims, bad publicity and making the development less appealing to prospective buyers.

In comparison, our Kerb Guard has a potential cost saving of £164 with 31.9kg of co2 per curb and can be reused further times, generating more potential savings with £198 with 43.5 kg of co2 per curb on each deployment! With reduced carbon footprint in mind, this helps to create a smart site, improving image towards accreditations such as NHBC pride in the job awards.

With many advantages, including a better environmental impact than traditional methods, the Kerb Guard also has 35mm of impact protection, with little need to worry about damages to the existing curb and a long lifespan. Installation is straightforward as it can be fixed in position by anchor brackets, secured with temporary tarmac, or bolted to the road with clamps.

Kerb Guards are highly flexible for construction and housing development industries and can be reused, moved and redeployed to multiple phases of the development during the build sequence, this product also helps to expediate compliance with section 38 highways act for road adoption.

Spacers are available for top-coated pavements.

Kerb Guard Spacers are required between each Kerb Guard. Drill and bolts may be required to install the Kerb Guards.
