What was the project?

Before the first construction phase could even begin in the Bedfordshire field location, the project hit a snag: the ground was far too sensitive for heavy equipment. The groundwork team found themselves unable to start preparing the site, as the unstable terrain couldn’t support the weight of the essential plant and machinery needed to kick off the build.

Our solution, Aluminium Trackway Panels!

Our experts tackled the challenge by installing a high-strength aluminium roadway. The compact loader was used for lifting and placing with accuracy, and our installation crew assisted with locking the panels, to ensure a stable setup on the difficult ground. This created a 3m-wide corridor perfect for a large-scale plant, along with custom platforms for turning and parking.
The outcome was a safer, more efficient track to enter the site from day one.

Result for this site

The roadway performed exactly as expected, impressing their team so much, they extended the hire for the duration of the building phase. Transitioning to an ‘open hire’ agreement is a key benefit of our flexible service, where the site now has a reliable, long-term solution for its access needs. The portable trackway has remained fault-free for vehicles to access the grounds with heavy deliveries.
