The LowPro Composite Road Plate effectively covers areas on site where there are apertures, bores and trenches, to allow easy access of vehicles and pedestrians.

This lightweight (42 kg) trench cover plate is manufactured from Composite Fibreglass material to be durable and long-lasting. It’s an interconnectable system with heavy-duty locking connectors to enable coverage over large trench zones.

The LowPro 15/05 Composite Road Plate reaches trench widths of up to 700mm wide and withstands loads of up to 44 tonnes (depending on ground conditions) during remedial and groundwork projects.

An improved alternative to heavy and noisy Steel Road Plates with an environmentally friendly nature to reduce carbon emissions and with no requirement of heavy lifting equipment to install them into place.
The hi-visibility yellow colour maximises visibility in low light or poor weather conditions while minimising the risk of slips, trips, or falls with its anti-skid traction surface.

The underside of this system has lateral drop pins to lower into the ground and prevent lateral movement. Additional edges reduce unwanted movement further due to its soft, flexible rubber material that grips surfaces. Installation is easy, only requiring two people, and can also be secured by bolting into the ground.

In addition to the inner sections, there are accessories such as our ramped edges to enable pedestrian and wheelchair use for smooth movement.
As well as acting as a trench cover, the LowPro Composite Road Plate also acts as a speed ramp to slow traffic on site.

A risk assessment needs to be carried out before installation. Before installation, please ensure that all drop pins are moving freely and that linking plate bolts are tightly secured.

Connection system

Place the inner section centrally over the 700mm max trench using the centre line as a guide. This system is interconnectable by slotting the plates together.
If an end piece is to be used, simply use M16 bolts to secure the end plate to the surface.

*Road plate end sections should not be placed over the trench.

Handling & Storage

Gloves should be worn when handling this product. We deliver to site in pre-wrapped packs with pallets incorporated and banded with polyester strips, to safely transport and store using mechanical equipment. This may vary for some products.
