Our Ekki Bog Mat is an exceptionally durable solution to create a temporary ground support for intense construction projects.
Known as Red Ironwood, the mats can deal with extremely soft and boggy ground conditions for applications with extremely heavy loads, plant and machinery.
The Ekki Bog Mat is manufactured from the African Ekki tree which is an even harder wood than our standard Hardwood Timber Bog Mats.
Due to its strong properties this D70 grade constructional timber is better for extremely heavy duty operations, like a temporary roadway, piling or bridging for wet and dry applications, in the construction industry. They can take weights well in excess of 50+ tonnes (subject to ground conditions) and can be used with steel tracked vehicles.
Each Ekki Bog Mat has been sourced independently from certified sustainable and FSC certified forests.
Projects can benefit from its low environmental impact, in which it’s environmentally reusable and causes minimum risk of ground damage, when used to reduce axle weight pressures.
Need to knows
We advise to use plant machinery with rubber or tracked wheels are recommended to carry and place the Ekki mats into position and damage will be the sole responsibility of the customer and user of the mats. When assessing ground conditions on site we advise seeking professional engineering guidance if there is any doubt. It is the users responsibility to assess the load-bearing capacity of the ground, and to only operate vehicles within the weight that the ground is capable of safely supporting.
A site limit must be adhered to when using this product.
